On May 11, 2023, the legal community and the Towson community as a whole mourned the loss of a true pillar, as Dennis J. Psoras peacefully passed away after battling a long illness. In his final moments, Dennis was surrounded by his beloved family and friends, a testament to the profound impact he had on those around him. Born on February 22, 1929, Dennis's remarkable journey spanned decades and left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

Dennis's early years were marked by academic prowess and determination. After attending Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, he furthered his education at Towson Teachers College. A driven student, he engaged in student teaching at Kenwood High while pursuing his studies at Towson, earning his degree in just two years. He then embarked on a swift ascent through the academic world, graduating with honors and as the class valedictorian from the Mount Vernon School of Law (now the University of Baltimore). Demonstrating exceptional dedication, he completed law school in a mere 18 months and was admitted to the bar in 1960.

For an impressive 63 years, Dennis practiced law with unwavering commitment, primarily at 608 Baltimore Ave in Towson. His early legal journey saw him working alongside associates Stanley Radcliffe and Nicolas Pistolas. As his career flourished, he extended his guidance and mentorship to young lawyers, forming lasting friendships with numerous judges. A pivotal chapter of his journey came when he was joined by his nephews, George Jr. and Gregory Psoras, sharing the camaraderie of the legal world. Yet, it was with his son, James D. Psoras, that Dennis experienced his happiest years, practicing law side by side until the end of his life.

Beyond his legal achievements, Dennis was a remarkable athlete, earning the moniker "the Golden Greek" for his powerful and finely sculpted physique. His prowess shone brightly in soccer, crew, and wrestling, leading him to be inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1983. His wrestling triumphs were particularly notable, securing titles such as the State and Mason-Dixon championships. A veteran of the Korean War, he served with honor in the United States Coast Guard.

In 1960, Dennis embarked on a journey of love and companionship when he married his childhood sweetheart, Demetra. Their union bore the fruits of a beautiful family, including three children - James, Stephanie, and Thomas - as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dennis's career was a testament to his commitment to the Towson community he cherished. Yet, beyond his professional accolades, he embodied the roles of friend, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He lived his life as a teacher, a poet, and a patriot, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide generations to come.

December 22, 1927 - February 1978

George's life journey was a testament to dedication, resilience, and the pursuit of education. Making a decision that would shape his destiny, he departed high school during his senior year to answer the call of duty, enlisting in the US Navy. His spirit of adventure and ambition led him to apply for the Fleet Examination for the US Naval Academy, a challenge he conquered as one of four successful candidates. However, faced with a defining crossroads, George chose an alternative path, opting for an early discharge to fulfill his dreams of attending law school.

Graduating from the Mount Vernon School of Law, now known as the University of Baltimore, George embarked on a successful legal career that touched the lives of many. His dedication to his practice remained unwavering, even as he battled liver cancer for nearly three years. Remarkably, he continued to actively contribute to his profession until the final month of his life, a testament to his determination and passion for the law.

George's presence was marked not only by his legal prowess but also by his striking appearance and athletic achievements. With a charismatic combination of black hair, dark eyes, and an olive complexion, he turned heads wherever he went. His skills as a lifeguard and swimmer shone in Ocean City, Maryland, where he safeguarded lives and thrived in the water. Additionally, his talents extended to the boxing ring, where he embraced the sport as a middleweight boxer while attending the University of Maryland. In the face of local professional boxers, he held his own, a silent testament to his prowess and determination.

George was a trailblazer who paved the way for those who followed. He lived life to the fullest, demonstrating that dreams are worth pursuing and that challenges are meant to be overcome. As he departed from this world at the tender age of 50, we remember him not only for his achievements but for the courage with which he faced adversity.

Born: December 1961

With an illustrious career spanning over thirty years, Gregory J. Psoras has carved a name for himself as an exceptional trial attorney, commanding profound respect in the legal arena. On a somber Thursday afternoon, December 10th, 2020, the world lost a vibrant soul as Dennis Fotis Paxenos passed away suddenly while at work. Born on January 5th, 1955, in Athens, Greece, his early journey saw him welcomed into the warm embrace of his adoptive parents, Fotis and Fotini Lagos Paxenos, who flew him to the United States as an infant.

Growing up in Baltimore, Dennis embraced his education with zest. He navigated public schools with curiosity, found inspiration at The St. Paul's School for Boys, and continued his journey at Calvert Hall. A graduate of the Maryland Art Institute, he nurtured his multi-faceted talents with passion and determination.

Dennis was a Renaissance spirit, effortlessly excelling in various creative realms. His artistic prowess extended to woodwork, crafts, jewelry making, and a particular love for photography. His lens captured the essence of the Tall Ships Celebration in Baltimore Harbor, earning him well-deserved acclaim. A deep connection to nature echoed in his love for fishing, where days on the Chesapeake Bay with his father became cherished memories.

Dennis's career path intertwined with his family's legal legacy. Working alongside his cousin Denny and his second cousin Jimmy, Dennis's aptitude shone as a paralegal. With a quick mind, unwavering diligence, and a dependable nature, he swiftly became an indispensable asset to the firm. In Denny, he found not only a mentor but also a big brother he never had. Dennis's kindness radiated through his actions and interactions, making a lasting impact on all fortunate enough to know him.

Born: March 23, 1963

Meet James D. Psoras, affectionately known as Jimmy, a remarkable individual whose life's narrative weaves together a tapestry of accomplishments, personal growth, and heartfelt dedication to community. With a commitment to excellence, a transformative journey, and a passion for contributing positively, Jimmy's story inspires those around him to embrace life's challenges and triumphs.

Jimmy's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Baltimore in 1992, a stepping stone for his future endeavors. He continued to shine in the academic sphere, culminating in the attainment of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Touro College - Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1999. This foundation laid the groundwork for his legal expertise and advocacy for justice.

Beyond academia, Jimmy's quest for excellence led him to Jim Fredrick's Kenpo Karate, where he passionately studied Kenpo Karate from 1989 to 2002. His dedication and discipline were rewarded with a remarkable achievement - a 4th-degree black belt. This commitment to martial arts mirrors his tenacity and willingness to conquer challenges with resilience and skill.

In 2000, Jimmy embarked on a journey of profound transformation by choosing to quit drinking, an inspiring decision that has led him to celebrate 23 years of sobriety. This monumental achievement reflects his unwavering determination, inner strength, and commitment to a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Jimmy's values extend to his family and community involvement. He exchanged vows with Raina Psoras on June 8, 2001, and their family grew with the arrival of son Dennis on November 10, 2005, and daughter Ava on August 24, 2007. His commitment to family echoes his capacity for love, care, and nurturing.

Jimmy's involvement in The Cathedral of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church underscores his dedication to community and spirituality. His active participation exemplifies his desire to contribute positively and connect with his deeply held values.
